How Do We #ServetheEarth on Native Lands?

On Earth Day, the AmeriCorps Southwest Conservation Corps’ Ancestral Lands program will engage community volunteers for a trash cleanup at Mentmore Park in Gallup, New Mexico.

The Ancestral Lands program engages Native youth and young adults in meaningful conservation projects on Native Lands. With programs in Acoma Pueblo and Navajo Nation, Ancestral Lands members have been working on projects from historical preservation, chainsaw crews, hiking clubs, stream restoration, fencing, trail construction, and more. The Ancestral Lands program also aims to incorporate traditional culture and language as part of crew lifestyle and project work.

Join us TODAY, April 7, 2015 for #Mayors4Service and #Counties4Service!

This is your opportunity to tell friends and family that you support national service in your community.

As the annual Mayors and Counties Day of Recognition for National Service kicks-off, more than 2,630 mayors and county officials are set to unite in support of national service across the nation with one common message: National Service Works for America.

Together, these mayors and county officials will represent more than 149 million Americans, or nearly 50% of the U.S. population!

Whether it’s by thanking AmeriCorps members and Senior Corps volunteers, issuing proclamations, or sharing powerful service stories on social media, mayors and county officials will show the impact national service has on solving our nation’s biggest problems.

Don’t forget:

  • Share our map graphic on Facebook and Twitter.
