Encourage Kids to Serve on MLK Day

Make Monday’s holiday more than a day off from school

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is just days away, and it’s important that children learn that the holiday should be more than just a day off from school.

Corporation for National and Community Service CEO Wendy Spencer recently told the Washington Post, “Dr. King was so much about service and giving back and community gatherings and bringing people together from all walks of life. What better way to honor him than . . . by making it a day of service that lives out what he preached about?”
