Since 1965, Foster Grandparent volunteers have made a difference in classrooms across the country as tutors, mentors and friends. The program allows volunteers age 55 and over to not only help kids but also to help themselves, by staying active and engaged in their communities. Community Corps (NCCC) team Oak 1 served the second half of their third round
in Galena, Illinois with the land trust, Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation
(JDCF). The vision and goals of JDCF is to preserve and enhance the natural
wildlife habitat, cultural resources, scenic vistas, and agricultural character
of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, and the surrounding areas for future
generations.
