Today in Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville, we are proud to welcome more than 100 AmeriCorps members to the national service family. These members will serve with AmeriCorps programs across the Volunteer State to meet critical needs in the areas of education, health, the environment, disaster services, and economic opportunity. Since 1994, more than 11,000 Tennessee residents have served more than 21 million hours.

Welcoming new AmeriCorps members to the National Service family in Mississippi!

Today in Jackson, Mississippi, we are proud to welcome a new class of AmeriCorps members to the national service family. These members will serve with AmeriCorps programs across the Magnolia State to meet critical needs in the areas of education, health, the environment, disaster services, and economic opportunity. In the 2015-2016 program year, 500 AmeriCorps members are serving in 10 AmeriCorps State programs to Get Things Done for Mississippi.  They are serving in schools and after-school programs as tutors and mentors, providing resources and nutritional education to address food security issues and healthy living lifestyles, cultivating school gardens, rehabilitating affordable homes, and connecting veterans and family members of active military personnel to available resources. Members create lasting change by recruiting local leaders and volunteers, and training them to enact change in their own neighborhoods. Thank you to Volunteer Mississippi for making today such an inspiring event!  We look forward to the positive impact they will have on Mississippi communities.

AMARILLO:  Today in Amarillo, TX we are proud to welcome 55 AmeriCorps members to the national service family. These members will serve with the Amarillo Independent School District AmeriCorps program in Amarillo, Texas to meet critical needs in Education. DALLAS:  Today in Dallas, TX we are proud to welcome more than 500 AmeriCorps members to the national service family. These members will serve with 6 North Texas AmeriCorps programs including CitySquare, City Year-Dallas, Project Transformation-Greater Dallas, Reading Partners North Texas, University of North Texas HIPPYCorps, and Teach for America-DFW to meet critical needs in Education. EL PASO:  Today in El Paso, TX at Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Tribal Courthouse, we are proud to welcome 28 AmeriCorps members to the national service family. These members will serve with 2 AmeriCorps programs including Target Tigua Tribal AmeriCorps and United Way of El Paso County to meet critical needs in Education and Economic Opportunity. We look forward to the positive impact they will have on the El Paso and Ysleta del Sur Pueblo tribal community.
