Utah Conservation Corps AmeriCorps member Christina Edgdoe helps eradicate non-native Russian olive and tamarisk trees along the Escalante River in southeast Utah, where a number of AmeriCorps programs have been working as part of a partnership on a long-term project to protect and restore the watershed. These invasive tree species thrive in poor soil and outcompete native plant species, damaging the river’s ecosystems. Learn more about the project in the Nature Conservancy magazine.
