Long before becoming one of Hollywood’s most-famous actresses, Eva Longoria learned the value of volunteering and giving back from her family.
From the March 30, 2014, issue of Parade Magazine:
Why did you become so heavily involved in charitable work?
“Because of my sister, Liza, having a disability. Anytime there was a program [for her] in our community, we utilized it. But at the same time, we had to give back, so we’d all volunteer. I knew the word volunteer at a very, very young age.”
She now leads the Eva Longoria Foundation, which supports programs that help Latinas succeed in education and entrepreneurship.
It’s National Volunteer Week. When and where did you learn about volunteering?
